A very small scale sand quarry (around 2 stacks mined) is an important detail. The abandoned pit created a severely dangerous trap. Many deaths are likely attributable to it."]],[["        - Part I -\n        The Battle\n\n          Ambush\n\nIt is unknown why the Pillager Patrol or SexyRoadkill were at this location, but the Pillagers attacked, the drawing of crossbows their only warning.\n\nSexyRoadkill was not"]],[["wearing armor, but did not retreat. (This is likely the first mistake that led to additional deaths.)\n\nThe ambush occurred at night - dangerous monsters joined the battle. This ultimately caused more deaths and creeper damage."]],[["          Deaths\n\nSexyRoadkill died 10x.\nTangentFox died 2x.\nMob deaths unknown.\n\nSexyRoadkill was shot by a Pillager, killed by witch magic 4x, slain by zombie 2x, shot by skeleton 2x, and blown up once. This was its last use, and it now is part of the monument."]],[["         Sleeping\n\nThe decision to sleep was made late, but still reduced the length of battle by forcing mobs to retreat or burn.\n\nIt being a shoreline allowed some mobs to escape into the water, & continue harassing players."]],[["         Pitfalls\n\nThe abandoned sand quarry was the single most dangerous thing about this battle. Most witch kills and some shootings were only made possible due to the pit left behind offering cover to witches, Pillagers, & skeletons."]],[["A concentration of 3 players within a km of each other led to a high spawnrate.\n\nThe previously mentioned lack of retreat, sleeping, & armor were large threats.\n\nThe terrain damage also made the fight more difficult."]],[["        - Part II -\n      The Monument\n\n         Purpose\n\nI almost immediately decided to build a monument to this battle. It's the biggest tragedy to occur, and highlighting mistakes should prove valuable in preventing similar disasters."]],[["It's also important to memorialize the many sacrifices of SexyRoadkill."]],[["        Materials\n\nConstruction was delayed briefly to search for oak for better signage. To prevent loss of interest, construction moved ahead despite failing to obtain oak.\n\nStatues were desired, but pumpkins had not been discovered yet."]],[["Thus, making copper-amethyst facsimiles of golems was decided upon.\n\nMaterials captured by TangentFox during the battle were kept safe. These will allow better exhibits within the monument.\n\nArmor stands were made to represent"]],[["dead players, and their bodies were laid to rest on-site."]],[["          Delays\n\nForgetting my travel bed led to me wasting time running between the site & a permanent bed.\n\nForgetting materials & keeping an overflowed inventory caused further delays.\n\nA persistent lack of"]],[["leather has been a problem in this world. For this project, it meant this book was delayed in writing, and many item frames are missing."]],[["      Incompletion\n\nThe quarry has a protective railing, as do the Creeper Pits, but these do not fully encase the dangerous areas. Nor does the monument itself have a complete wall around it. It is intentional for the monument to feel more open, but it is incomplete."]],[["Additional exhibits are intended. It was challenging to figure out the format, and make sure it didn't get too long.\n\nI like to write long-form, so this is a"]],[["challenge. Sometimes I rewrite the same line a dozen times to fit line length better.\n\nFormatting is difficult.\n\nI have referred to myself inconsistently in 1st and 3rd person. I have also mixed tense quite a lot."]],[["         Process\n\nI took several notes immediately after the battle. I then added more notes while building the monument.\n\nThere was too much to organize easily. I tend to ramble. So I asked ChatGPT for advice on history book design - in Minecraft."]],[["I wrote a table of contents and started fitting my notes to it. This didn't work, so I instead just started writing based on the table of contents and notes.\n\nAs I completed each chapter, I refined what would be included in each chapter. I cut a few chapters, and"]],[["added new chapters.\n\nPart III wasn't even in the original draft. But I realized the writing deserved its own section when finishing Part II.\n\nI will finish formatting this and add the final date to the Timeline. And that will likely be that."]],[["If more is done, a note will be added to the end."]],[["      Future Plans\n\nThis book should be rewritten after the monument is finished. There will be more to say at that point, & I can correct mistakes made here.\n\nI also plan to make other history books, and fiction books.
