8a01c9201a Fix #11382. #11764. Only prevent click events on disabled elements. 
We don't want a disabled link/button to register delegated clicks, but we do want events like mouseover or custom events.

This is a compromise, there is no perfect solution. Well, the browsers could be consistent about direct vs. delegated events but *that's* not gonna happen.

94e744aec9 Fix #11315. Selector for .on() is relative to delegateTarget. 
This fixes a regresssion from 1.6.4. Be aware that nearly every place that this bug comes into play, the selector in use is incredibly inefficient.

f8c02c886e Fix #11328. I've never metaKey I liked on IE 6/7/8. 
The `event.metaKey` property is undefined there so we ensure it's set to `false` for lack of a better default. The `originalEvent.metaKey` property is untouched if you prefer to make other guesses about the platform or key state.

This is pretty much impossible to unit test since it is not only platform dependendent but also only executed for native browser events.

7f2cc46955 Fix #11767. Modularize build and unit tests for exluding effects. 
Closes gh-785. To build a version of jQuery without effects, use `grunt build:*:*:-effects`. The unit tests feature-check for the interfaces and skip the unit tests for effects if they don't detect it.

c4e22ad8b5 Fix #11721. Remove jQuery.boxModel, deprecate jQuery.support.boxModel. 
This removes all internal uses of `jQuery.support.boxModel`. jQuery has never run unit tests with Quirks Mode and has not even feigned support for several years, so these remnants weren't doing much except giving false hope.

For now, `jQuery.support.boxModel` continues to have a value indicating whether the W3C box model is *generally* in use, but be aware that this is easily overridden on an element-by-element basis by the `box-model` CSS property. So don't trust this value.

f93a2f569d Preserves context objects when multiple Deferreds are passed to $.when(). Context is an array containing the original contexts in order. When non-observable value is given, associated context is undefined. In case only a single non-observable value is given, context is the global object (thanks so much Function.prototype.apply!). 395612bb15 $.ajax now always returns an object implementing the Promise interface. Fixes #10944. Unit tests amended. 
For back-compat, in case of an early abort, callbacks passed in the options are not called (while subsequent callbacks attached to the returned Promise are).
For early abort triggered by returning false in beforeSend, statusText is "canceled".

c3600e261b Take 2 on "Fix ajax to always expect an Error object, per #10646." 
We can't use jQuery.error to rethrow anymore since it constructs a new Error from its supposedly-string arg. Also, older IE stringifies Error objects into "[object Error]" so I've loosened the unit test criteria.

511c9fe763 Fix focus/blur unit test issues. Reopens #6705. 
In the event refactor, I tried to have the focus/blur events trigger the focus/blur plus focusin/focusout events but this doesn't handle various real-world cases that expect a trigger()ed jQuery handler to run and be able to pass data even if the native event shouldn't fire.

This reopens a bug that causes a double-fire of
inline event handlers.

e5b16e3356 Rename jQuery.event.propHooks to .fixHooks. 
We already have jQuery.propHooks for the .prop() method, so using the same name for unrelated functionality on a sub-namespace is crazy talk. Since the method involved is jQuery.event.fix(), this will hopefully tie them together. Oh, and it's shorter.

b4120a7430 propHooks now an object with props array and filter function. 
Use the originalEvent to grab properties in filter functions since they often won't have been copied to event. Mark a few current props in the main jQuery.event.props list as deprecated, they aren't supported across all browsers.

d920ac68fd Simplify the .closest(Array) code since we no longer use it internally. 
It was previously used in liveHandler for delegated events, but is now baked in to events.js. The signature is a strange one since it returns an array of matches, *not* a chainable jQuery object. I've marked it as deprecated.

The code is simplified by two things: 1) We don't care about optimizing the duplicate selectors case, and 2) `.is()` now handles positional selectors by looking for set membership, which eliminates the workaround that was being applied here. See 70e2e32e0e for that commit.

3bd7bed340 Fix #6593. Don't let onchange trigger twice for elements in IE. 
This is a major revamp of the approach we use for IE change events. Instead of trying to track and simulate, we lazy-attach real change events to inputs and have only one workaround for check/radio. Somewhat more resource intensive but closes several sticky bugs. The onchange is still triggered for check/radio on blur but no double-trigger on any element occurs.

6a670df9e9 Rework the special events interface to add handle and trigger hooks. Modify IE change/submit special events to take advantage of them. Rewrite mouseover/enter code as special events rather than inline code.
